Der Monte Cristallo wurde meines Wissens im ersten Weltkrieg gesprengt, da die Armee Italiens ihn nicht erobern konnte.

Hallo Hermann,

der Cristallo ist der Hausberg von Cortina d'Ampezzo und immer noch 3221 Meter hoch. Im ersten Weltkrieg verlief hier zwar die Dolomitenfront, doch hatten sich die Italiener am Hauptkamm festgesetzt und es kam nur zu kleineren Gefechten.

Vielleicht verwechselst Du den Cristallo mit dem Col di Lana, dessen Eroberung den Italiener nach großen Verlusten (sie nannten in deshalb auch Col di Sangue - Blutberg) erst durch die Sprengung des Gipfels gelang.
