gravastar Posted August 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I often use my 24mm Summilux for landscapes and would like to use neutral density graduated filters. The Summilux has no filter thread and uses series 7 filters held in place by the screw on hood. For other lenses that have a filter thread I use the Lee RF75/Seven5 filter system. The only solution I can think of is to have a custom adapter ring made that would interface between the hood thread on the outside of the lens barrel and a standard filter thread, 60mm say, allowing a Lee 60mm to System75 adapter ring to be used. This would also work for the Lee polariser. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Bob. Edited August 13, 2014 by gravastar
Advertisement Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Hi gravastar, Take a look here Anyone have a solution for ND grads on 24mm Summilux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
menos I M6 Posted August 15, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2014 Leica made filter adapters for the 24mm Summilux which screw in place instead of the lens hood and can take standard filters. This is what you want: Leica E72 Filter Adapter for Leica 24mm f/1.4 Summilux-M 14-479
Joakim Posted August 15, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 15, 2014 I think you are looking for this, Leica E72 Filter Adapter for Leica 24mm f/1.4 Summilux-M 14-479 I haven't tried it myself since I only needed ordinary ND filters so far. Oh, second place

gravastar Posted August 15, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted August 15, 2014 This is what I use. B+W Series 7 Neutral Density 0.9 Filter 66-1070630 B&H Photo Thanks, I already have B+W Series 7 ND filters for the Summilux. The filters I wish to use are the rectangular graduated ones from the Lee RF75/Seven5 system. I think the Leica E72 filter adapter suggested by Menos | M6 and Joakim_d is the answer. Lee have just introduced a RF75 72mm adapter ring which looks as if it will mate with the Leica adapter to give a solution . I've ordered the parts, thank you all. Bob. I am using Singhray ND grad + other square Singhray filters (Cokin P format) through applying the Leica 82mm adapter to Series VIII filter thread size on my 21mm Lux, similar to 24mm Lux situation. However I had to use strips of black form to cover up the voids on the adapter to effectively use my ND grad filter. jaeger Posted April 10, 2018 Share #8 Posted April 10, 2018 Question, can you apply the lens hood after using this B+W filter? Thanks. This is what I use.B+W Series 7 Neutral Density 0.9 Filter 66-1070630 B&H Photo
mmradman Posted April 10, 2018 Share #9 Posted April 10, 2018 Question, can you apply the lens hood after using this B+W filter? Thanks. B+W series VII is circular non-threaded filter and it needs original lens hood to keep it in place.
jaeger Posted May 13, 2018 Share #10 Posted May 13, 2018 (edited) I don't like the series 7 setup and neither the Leica 14479. Has anyone create an adapter to fit regular filters like 55mm ,62mm or whatever making more sense. Thanks. jaeger Posted June 4, 2018 Share #13 Posted June 4, 2018 (edited) I found a SE7 to 55mm adapter that works. The only problem is the male thread is out the outside. There is female to female adapter that can correct this. Welcome, dear visitor! jaeger Posted June 4, 2018 Share #14 Posted June 4, 2018 (edited) with the female to female. =) In fact, I might not need a hood after adding these. Welcome, dear visitor! PixelAllen Posted April 14, 2022 Share #16 Posted April 14, 2022 Do you have a link to that adaptor? I'd like to try this method. Would those Series Vii to 46/49mm work too?
