Advertisement Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Hi wilfredo, Take a look here R to MM Adaptor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k-hawinkler Posted August 13, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted August 13, 2014 Of course they do exist, buy how do you frame and focus?
Bill W Posted August 13, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted August 13, 2014 It would be a hassle trying to focus without live view. We will just need to wait for the M....MM
wilfredo Posted August 14, 2014 Author Share #4 Â Posted August 14, 2014 I don't know the technology behind it, but if they can pull it off for the M240, why not the MM?
pop Posted August 14, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted August 14, 2014 The M (Typ 240) has a CMOS sensor which is capable of live view. It can continuously send a preview image. The Monochrom has a CCD sensor which can not do so.

wilfredo Posted August 15, 2014 Author Share #7 Â Posted August 15, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, the Adapter only works on the M240 in live view? Interesting. No adapter for a CCD sensor? That's too bad!
mmradman Posted August 15, 2014 Share #8 Â Posted August 15, 2014 So, the Adapter only works on the M240 in live view? Interesting. No adapter for a CCD sensor? That's too bad! Â Wilfred's, Â You seem to mix two different things. Â Adapter as in R to M lens adapter is just an extension ring to fit one type of lens (SLR lens like Leica R) to rangefinder camera - Leica M, any film or digital model. Reason for this is to enable infinity focus with lenses not originally designed for M system. Â Viewing to frame and focus. With native M lenses we frame with frame masks in optical VF and focus with coincidence patch driven by focus cam. With SLR lenses fitted to digital M sensor and on board image processor shall be capable to project image in real time (or almost real time) onto either rear LCD or add-on EVF. As earlier digital M cameras were CCD technology which in Leica implementation did not allow to live view the image, introduction of CMOS in M typ 240 enabled live viewing.
