Pocket Watch Restoration

So this really nice lady from across the road drops by to see Carol and looks with interest at

what I was doing with pocket watch parts all over the bench. She tells me she has an old non-

working pocket watch at her place that had belonged to someone in her family. So, i tell her to bring

it over and I'll take a look at it. So, she does. This watch turns out to be a cheap, cheap thing

that must have been bought at a Five and Dime Store many years ago for $1.59. But, I saw it as a

challenge and by-golly I got it running... it was just fun.

Im not a snob but I specialize in rebuilding Waltham Vanguard 23 Jewel Railroad watches...

the best in my opinion. But as I said.... it was fun, Pictures is the Dime store watch along

side of a Vanguard movement with the cock and balance assembly removed for repair.

PS: The story is better than the photo.
