Please help: Could someone please tell me which versions the 35/f2 Summicron (S/no. 2329363) and 50/f2 Summicron (S/no. 2116407) are? I've just bought an M4 outfit and am trying to identify each item before it joins my collection. Also, I can work out what most of the accessories are for, but what is (it seems to be adaptor) no. 12585 for?

Well, check out the LUF Wiki for all this information and more.

It sounds like a great system, and the differences between versions of the lenses are often small enough you may never know in actual shooting.

Thank you Swamiji, I've just checked out the LUF WIKI and, it seems, the 35/f2 lens may be rather scarce ( it is by Leitz Wetzlar, rather than Leitz Canada. Any information on the other items? Kind regards, David.

It's all in the Wiki:

http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/12585

You can download Erwin Puts "Leica Pocket" ebook that will give you the dates of manufacture, and you can visit various review sites. I am not sure what information you desire?

My recommendation is to go shooting, and let your photo's tell you.

One small point.

At the bottom of each Wiki entry (if available) there are links to LUF discussions on each item, and often links to external review sites (Though some may be outdated).

This should help you find the additional information you require.

Has the Summicron 35 the small lever/dent to adjust f/stops ? Can you post a picture of it ? Indeed, the Wetzlar it's a rather uncommon variant.

Thank you Luigi; Yes, there is a lever to adjust the f/stops. It came with its' 12504 hood, so I can see how difficult it would be to change apertures without such a lever. I'm afraid I don't have a digital camera, so posting pictures is beyond me. Kind Regards, David
