Advertisement Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hi TheGodParticle/Hari, Take a look here Leitz Summarex 85 f1.5 pictures. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
scsambrook Posted July 23, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2014 Did your Summarex arrive yet? Somewhere I have a few scanned Kodachromes taken in the 1960s which I'll try to find. I'm more than a little envious of you !

I'm more than a little envious of you ! Not yet ... I screwed up the wire transfer :/ We have a lengthy 500 digit IBAN number and I entered a wrong digit so the transfer didn't go though Resent this morning, hoping it's in my hands early next week I've been looking for a MINT copy with the hood and filter and caps for a very long time, finally found one a few days ago and I'm very excited! Eagerly looking forward to see your images
luigi bertolotti Posted July 24, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 24, 2014 While you wait... a pair of pictures taken with it... first one with M8, Summarex 85 at f 2,8, the second taken with M240, Summarex at f2 onto an OUBIO adapter acting as extension ring , of course using EVF . Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! (both previously posted in the LUF, indeed...) Enjoy the Summarex ! Is a unique item, with a sort of "majestic appearance" that makes to forget its weight (and critical focusing... ). With the Super Angulon 21 f4 and the first Summilux 35 chrome, it makes the trio of what I call the "jewelry-like" lenses... Thank you for posting the images, Luigi Beautiful images with lovely tones I intend to use this lens mainly on my MM and M9 How is the color contrast out of camera and how is the flare behavior? luigi bertolotti Posted July 26, 2014 Share #6 Posted July 26, 2014 In my opinion, the Summarex has a rather "modern" contrast.... I find it similar, for instance, to my Summicron 90 of 1977... nothing to be compared to the old Hektor 7,3cm... of course, a really contemporary design (like my Summarit 75) is another matter. The Summarex flares anytime the light conditions are less than ideal (they were ideal in my bw picture above... light exactly at my back, and a "light absorbing" background, the photo of the rose was in less good situation)
TheGodParticle/Hari Posted July 28, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted July 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) And what a beauty it is! In almost perfect cosmetic, optical and mechanical condition! There is some slight fogging in the inner elements which will be taken care by a quick trip to Wetzlar this week. Perfect focus movement and perfect aperture movement of the 15 blades. The front cap bears some scratches but no big deal.
TheGodParticle/Hari Posted July 28, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted July 28, 2014 Can't wait to get out of work early today and shoot some! Honestly, this lens has me much more excited than the APO50 (shot many many images on the M9, will post today) Now the hunt is on for a Hektor 73/1.
TheGodParticle/Hari Posted July 28, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted July 28, 2014 And some bonus dust particles and a fragment of hair )
luigi bertolotti Posted July 29, 2014 Share #10 Posted July 29, 2014 AHA ... Rex is always REX... ... your PLEASURE to handle it emerges clearly from your pictures... ; over 1.000.000 I see... so, I suppose it has its proper infrared marking engraved between the DOF reference lines... I envy your ORIGINAL lens'cap... I haven't it on mine, and share the one from Hektor 12,5... (which is almost perfect on Summarex too)
sblutter Posted August 9, 2014 Share #11 Posted August 9, 2014 Congrats - what a beauty! Enjoy, shoot lots

hiepphotog Posted October 11, 2015 Share #13 Posted October 11, 2015 Definitely the lens doesn't fit this kind of shot, too busy looking. Destined to be a flower lens
