Just received my M240 100th Anniversary Edition Black or normally known as M100 some event call it 100th M. sharing some photos with you of it as it arrived and me and my friend unboxing it. Last week i came across that M100 was launched on limited numbers to 500 bodies (250 black and 250 chrome) lucky Reddotcamers had few and managed to get from them. I must say Reddot guys are very friendly and entire deal went very smooth, They received their payment and shipped the bodies to Bahrain the same day using DHL. The M100 is sitting now side by side with M9 both are having a discussion and getting to know each other. I loved and still love M9. there was no reason for me to upgrade to M but the whole 100th year of Leica and making anniversary camera .... I just could not hold it back. Any advice on the M will be highly appreciated. gonna take it out for test drive tonight. here are some of the images of us unboxing the M100. Note: One thing i could not understand ... there was no serial number but date ... both our cameras has a day difference between each other. Hamad Posted July 15, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted July 15, 2014 1- Today during first few hours of testing... The M100 went num... It just froze .. While taking photo the shutter was releases and at the same time it went dead. For good 20-30 minutes it waz like that and then after removing battery it started working fine. I updates the firmware period to this. What could be the reason. Did anyone faced the same with their M240? 2- When I set metering to "Spot Metering" and shoot and whn check info on photoshop or shows "Average Metering" Is that normal? Good day DigitalHeMan I connect 12mm view finder on double hot-shoe thumb-up grip. It has two hot shoes. Mine also started brassing after the second or third outing, I'm surprised yours hasn't. i got them from HongKong .. ordered few at once and both normal with one hot-shoe and few with double hot shoe. all liked the idea of double hot shoe. i have been using it for good outdoor and indoor work and its been in my bag and have been used as if i will use my other cameras. so yes its a good quality i guess. Hamad Posted July 29, 2014 Author Share #19 Posted July 29, 2014 this is results of my first so called "Official" shoot with the M240 M100. was quite impressed with the focus and the new shutter release or silent shutter. the day and bright light images were perfect. however when did few at low light most were shake due to me being hungry and shaky Love the Auto-WhiteBlance ... its way advance and way better then that of M9. I have done M9 in the same location and all the images were bit on yellow side and had to adjust them all before i could do anything to them. however all the images here are direct from the camera... criticism is highly welcomed here.
