jimofnyc Posted July 12, 2014 Share #1  Posted July 12, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Twice a year during late May and mid July the sun lines up with the main street grid of New York City. As the sun sets, the rays of light shine down the streets creating a nice sunset. Neil deGrasse Tyson dubbed it Manhattanhenge. We also get the same effect from the opposite direction during sunrise in early December and January. Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted July 12, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted July 12, 2014 Jim, Â A fine shot of the opportunity that occurs very few times. You caught it in a great position shining down the busy street. An excellent exposure. Â Paul
