efreed2754 Posted July 19, 2014 Share #21 Â Posted July 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Christian. Realize you are aware of the Leica 18, so question: is it really too long for you? Â You are probably thinking its close to the 21 and while I agree, it still may be worth a shot (pun intended). I use 28 or 24 with 18. That said the 18 is a wonderful lens and there are only a few times I might wish it were wider. Â My point is you may obtain many fine images with the 18 which is proven and works well, while waiting for a possible wider lens. Perhaps 18 and your next lens up are an alternative kit to the 21. Advertisement Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Hi efreed2754, Take a look here Will we see a choice of wider lenses in the near future?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
algrove Posted July 19, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted July 19, 2014 Well put Miami. Â I find few even consider the option of shooting just a few images and then stitching them together. A RRS parallax adjustment with nodal and pano head kit is way cheaper than a new lens plus it can be used with any lens. In fact many consider a normal of long lens very good for panoramas. Numbers Posted July 19, 2014 Author Share #23 Â Posted July 19, 2014 Dear Ed I was thinking exactly that. Thats why I think a 15mm would be equal or even more succesful than the 18mm because one would get a real supplement to the popular 21mm focal length. I realize, this might just be my wishful thinking though. When I picked my WA i tried the 18 mm as well. And you are right. It is a very capable lens. I guess giving it a second shot would do no harm ;-) Thanks!
Numbers Posted July 19, 2014 Author Share #24 Â Posted July 19, 2014 Dear Algrove, I have to admit that it is a piece of equiptment im not familiar with. It sounds iteresting though. Would you have a recommendation or a link. Not sure about it when I google it. However, im not always able to work with a tripod. Thank you!
Leicakillen Posted July 20, 2014 Share #25  Posted July 20, 2014 Thank you, Anders. It looks like the correction works very well, in deed. Im surprised that it works better on the M9 than the M?!! What profile do you use? very nice pictures BTW. There is definitely a need for 15mm IMO. best from Denmark where it is too hot to stay outside  Here you can see the difference between M9 an M very clear: - first image with CT15 and M uncorrected - horrible colour cast on right hand side, not possible to "live" with! - second corrected with Flat Field in LightR - M, very good correction IMHO. Very easy to correct! - third with M9 uncorrected, some light fall off and colour cast, in less critical cases possible to accept. - fourth - M9 corrected with Flat Field, better.  /Anders Welcome, dear visitor! Numbers Posted July 20, 2014 Author Share #26 Â Posted July 20, 2014 Thank you so much, Anders, for posting. That does look very convincing in deed. I was reading a little about this tecnique and apparantly it is quite used with digital medium format where this occurs more often. The price of the CV 15 is certainly nice also. Something to think about. Thank you :-)
