desu Posted July 7, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted July 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Â Does anyone know if there exist aftermarket lens hoods that fit the Summarit 50? Personally I find the price for the original lens hood to be too high. I would buy it used but I don't see it on sale very often.

desu Posted July 7, 2014 Author Share #5  Posted July 7, 2014 HeavyStar Photo Gears Home Page  Hmm I only see them having a hood for the old summarit.  Which Summarit? 1:1.5 or 1:2.5?  2.5, the new one.    On eBay I just saw that there are lens hoods that screw into the filter thread. How effective are those? Doesn't a lens hood have to be designed specifically for certain lenses to be useful? And couldn't one damage the filter thread with it? DirkB17 Posted July 8, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted July 8, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I own a 35 Summarit. From my perspective the Leica hood is extremely well made, nice to use and worth every penny.

mawe3000 Posted July 8, 2014 Share #9  Posted July 8, 2014 The Voigtländer LH-2 hood (for LTM Skopars 35/50) has the same internal thread and fits perfectly, and the lens' filter thread is still usable. It is however out of production and not that easy to find.
