lpeeples Posted July 4, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted July 4, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some advice... maybe I never noticed but my lens hood on the 21 lux doesn't tighten down and stop when twisting it on like my 35. Is this normal? I could have sworn it stopped at a certain point. I can also see a red rubber gasket when the hood is off. It sounds like it should stop from the manual. Advertisement Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Hi lpeeples, Take a look here 21 Lux Lens hood. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
01af Posted July 4, 2014 Share #2  Posted July 4, 2014 It should tighten down and stop at the proper position just like the current Summilux-M 35 mm Asph's or any modern wide-angle M lens's hood. If it doesn't then something is wrong.  All M lenses with a hood screwing onto male hood threads (as opposed to female filter threads) have those rubber gaskets. In most lenses, the gasket is black and hard to see with the naked eye. In some lenses—those with bulged-out front elements—, the gasket is red which warns the user from putting the lens down on the front element with no hood screwed on.
