architecture for a campus university - really?

once the, a few decades ago, this architecture was being praised for its advanced and ambitious view of the future.

now after 50 years it is crumbling, rotting, full of asbestos. They started tearing down the sections. The wreckage is being replaced by the same kind of cheap material and rudwe architecture. Where the buildings do not get finished in time, containers are the home of scientists and their teams. Can you believe this?

a container as an example of being a home for one of many homeless departments. A nice sample of parkdeck-architecture.

Iduna,

A fine series. As I reflect on your narrative, I get a chilled feeling like we are watching one of those movies about the end of civilization. Big buildings standing abandoned and nothing left.

Paul,

yes, exactly. The "nothingness" is home for our science and education and we can ask ourselves where or values are gone if we are not able to give them a suitable representative shell. Database, media, etc are of volatile character and so are the containers and here we can even say that there is a balance. But what an unbelievable wastage of money even to repeat the same mistakes from 50 years ago and cause a lot of trouble for those departments which have to work there and rack their minds in terms of future achievements. I have another series showing the wreckage of the kitchen building....
