drk_1981 Posted June 22, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted June 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, Â I have a 15 mm Super Wide Heliar from Voigtlander and use it on my M8 (in combination with the 21mm viewfinder, due to the crop). Now that I also got a M6, I am wondering if the 21mm viewfinder would be still sufficient to compose the picture or a 15mm viewfinder is necessary. I would like to avoid having to buy a second viewfinder if possible, therefore I'm curious if I can approximate the composition with my current gear ... Â thanks for your short feedback
Advertisement Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Hi drk_1981, Take a look here Leica M6 with 15 mm Super Wide Heliar viewfinder question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
madNbad Posted June 23, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted June 23, 2014 A roll of film would be your best way to find out. The outside edge of the 21 viewfinder should give you a good idea of what will be in the frame. If that isn't accurate enough for you then invest in a 15 viewfinder. Isn't half the fun of the superwides is seeing what shows up at the edge of the frame?
nelly Posted July 4, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted July 4, 2014 I have the 15 mm Super Wide Heliar lens and use on my M6 TTL as well as my M9 and highly recommend getting the Voigtlander 15mm Viewfinder which is crystal clear and not too big with excellent metal construction and so far great results with it. Good luck!
tobey bilek Posted July 4, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted July 4, 2014 You will probably need it. Â To verify, remove camera back, replace bottom, put on tripod, place matt acetate over film gate, use dark cloth or old shirt to darken camera, open shutter on B. Â The left hinge on the back is spring loaded.
