JohnJWhite Posted June 17, 2014 Author Share #22 Â Posted June 17, 2014 Where these older Jin flanges and what focal length lenses?? My type 4 35 sum, older 50 sum (circa 1979) and 90 tele elmarit-m (thin) don't work at all on the m240 but perfect on the m9 Â The jin mounts are all new, within the past two weeks. So far I have the 90mm Elmarit-M 1:2.8/90 and the Tele-Elmar-M 1:4/135 working perfectly. Â Rong Jin has the correct mount for my 21 and is sending it out right away. I had ordered the incorrect mount, so, not their fault.
simplygood Posted June 19, 2014 Share #23  Posted June 19, 2014 Simplygood - did this work on the M240?? Thanks, Larry  Hey Larry,  Yep, it worked on the M240. I coded a Macro Elmar 90mm and a Zeiss 28mm ZM.
brusby Posted June 19, 2014 Share #24 Â Posted June 19, 2014 On the M9 you can get by painting just the black, but on the M240 that didn't work for me -- it needed the white.
tobey bilek Posted June 20, 2014 Share #25 Â Posted June 20, 2014 GM car paint works fine, universal black and Arctic white. Â Very possibly two other issues. The camera needs to see the correct frame line automatically, Â Bigger potential issue is the pits are wider on factory coded lenses. The 240 may actually be seeing chrome next to the jinfinance black areas giving incorrect reading. Â To further complicate matters, many I bought were .040" thick. The one that came off the camera was .039. Front focus resulted and I had to thin the mount. Â If I had a 240 and knowing what I KNOW TODAY, I would buy new lenses, or have leica code and calibrate, or manually set in the camera menu. Â Mine work fine on the M8 & 9 , after a lot of screwing around. That is part of what keeps me from buying a 240. Leica seems to be perpetually fixing problems with rangefinders , red edges, lens coding, etc. Their service is not that good and I do not feel I should have to keep sending stuff in to be modified. Their cameras are in a perpetual state of modification since digital.
