Hello all. I have bought a Leica 80-200 late version to use with my 240 via the adapter. It seems that when you turn the focus ring to infinity you have to stop before you get to the end of the turn. So if you turn the focus ring to far it goes out of focus slightly. Is this normal for this lens or do I need an adjustment? Thank you in advance

It's deliberate and common to many longer R lenses and is designed to allow for expansion of the lens under thermal conditions. If Leica hadn't designed it this way you might have posted a thread about not being able to reach infinity with your focus ring on a hot day, which would of course be worse.:)

Pete.

Watch out for sloppy focusing though. That mens the focus transfer lever is working loos. If it loosens too much it may break leaving you with a complicated repair.

I have noticed the same behavior with my 80-200. It's more noticeable at the long end. I think that particular lens is very sensitive to small adjustments in focus.

I try to always check focus using live view, even if everything in the frame is a mile away and I am shooting at F8. The sensor of the M240 seems to be very demanding of accurate focus.
