Leica M lenses (except the old teles that could be taken apart for Visoflex use) will be "macro-focusing only" on any SLR - the thickness of the mirror box acts like a permanent and non-removable 15mm extension tube, preventing focus beyond a few inches.

Leica R lenses can be adapted, but it requires surgery. Not just putting a simple adapter between the R mount and the F mount (again, you'd lose the ability to focus to infinity). You have to use a screwdriver to totally remove the R mount and substitute a new piece of metal, likely from these folks: Leica lens for Nikon cameras

You want to use M lenses on a 36 Mpixel sensor - with normal focus range? The Sony A7r is the only current option.

Addendum: you could do major surgery on the D800e - as this guy did with his Canon5D2 - and use M lenses with live-view only.

Notice how much he had to cut off the thickness of the camera (also gutting the mirror, ground-glass, and prism) to make it work, though.

For most Leica R lenses you can get an F-mount at Leitax.com and you keep infinity as is, no problem, but you will have to stop down the aperture manually.
