Confessions of a Leica accumulator, I saw the 28/1.4 announcements and called my local dealer. Currently the 28/1.4 is only part of a kit, but I do expect a regular production lens to follow, so I contacted my local dealer to ask how many orders were ahead of me. I am proud to state that I have a deposit paid holding the #1 position in a queue for a product that doesn't officially exist yet.

 

Yes, Leica causes us to do strange things.

Me too, but no deposit needed. My dealer knows I want a 28 lux, ever since the M9 was announced. I am using a 24 lux in its place. Bought it for the M8, I had at the time.

I think it would be a very useful lens ( I use 21/1.4,28/2,35/1.4 .... )

But, not wanting to pour on cold water, with Leica lenses of late, there seems to be a 50:50 chance that design oversights, requiring partial redesign, are uncovered by the first batch of customers.

You actually think it will be available in a year? I think the kit, is the beta. Announced at photokina, with announced availability next April. Actual availability next July, if we are lucky.
