Guest Ansel_Adams Posted May 28, 2014 Share #21 Â Posted May 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) My recommendation would be the 35 Summicron ASPH and live with it for at least a year before getting another lens.
Advertisement Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Hi Guest Ansel_Adams, Take a look here New 35 for M Mono and M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
B-A-C Posted May 29, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted May 29, 2014 I had the 35/2 Zeiss and have the 35 cron asph. I prefer the handling, size and aesthetics of the cron. The image leaves nothing to be desired. Â That being said the Zeiss on Tri-X was incredible. It's a match made in heaven. Â Either way you win. Good luck. asiafish Posted June 4, 2014 Author Share #23 Â Posted June 4, 2014 The 28 Elmarit I ordered didn't pan out. Had damaged glass, so back it went. Â I did visit the Leica Store in Los Angeles yesterday and they were very helpful in lightening my wallet. That said. I did walk out with a new 35 Summarit and as much as I dislike external viewfinders (I used first a Panasonic and then a Voigtlander), I tried Leica's viewfinder and fell in love. WOW, so bright and clear, with excellent contrast, no flare and good eye point (better than the camera's viewfinder in every way except parallax. Â So, I also repurchased the 24 f/3.8 Elmar which I loved my images from, just hated composing them. I think an 18mm may be next, but I would definitely go straight to Leica's outrageously over-priced, but incredible quality viewfinder rather than trying to save a few bucks on a cheaper one.
