JeffWright Posted May 22, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted May 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Something of an announcement, I guess, for the 28mm Summilux. Sadly, it looks like the first 101 lenses will be part of the 100 year anniversary collectible set, and thus never used. Advertisement Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hi JeffWright, Take a look here So there will be a 28mm Summilux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Stealth3kpl Posted May 22, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted May 22, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised if it's found to be a typo (24/1.4) Pete
james.liam Posted May 22, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted May 22, 2014 I received an email this morning from Westlicht announcing the auction for serial no. 1/101 of the "Leica M Edition 100". The kit contains a film M-A (appears to be a chrome MP) and a chrome M Monochrom. It goes on to mention that,"the set also includes three Summilux-M lenses with focal lengths of 28, 35 and 50 mm", all stainless steel-clad. Â Typo error or new model?!?! wattsy Posted May 22, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted May 22, 2014 It does look like a large chunky lens in the middle of the photo. Definitely not the 28 Summicron so must be either the 24/F1.4 or a new 28 Summilux.

Paul J Posted May 22, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted May 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Given the MP is now called the M-A, I guess we're about to see an M-P too.

jplomley Posted May 22, 2014 Share #10 Â Posted May 22, 2014 I believe there is a new 90mm macro coming as well based on yesterday's Leica blog.

andybarton Posted May 22, 2014 Share #12 Â Posted May 22, 2014 Given the MP is now called the M-A, I guess we're about to see an M-P too. Â The MP is different from the M-A. The latter doesn't have a meter, the MP does.
DigitalHeMan Posted May 22, 2014 Share #13  Posted May 22, 2014 Exciting news.... But 14k is a high price, even by Leica standards. Let's hope there is a lower cost 'normal edition' as well, preferably in black   Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CrisRose Posted May 22, 2014 Share #14 Â Posted May 22, 2014 I look forward to finding out the price of the "regular" black 28 Lux once it comes out. It better be closer to the price of the 50 Lux than the 24 Lux
Paul J Posted May 22, 2014 Share #15 Â Posted May 22, 2014 Given that the Silver Summilux is not being sold separately, I'm sure the 14K price is just speculation and joke. I've not seen the price mentioned at all yet. My guess is it will be around the 24 Summilux price.

Winedemonium Posted May 22, 2014 Share #20 Â Posted May 22, 2014 I just bought the 28 Cron last week. But knowing the cycle of things it will be a while before the regular black one, and then the waiting list. I'm glad it appears to be more 35 FLE in proportion than 24 Lux.
