photolotse Posted April 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm still thinking of why Leica has been given a "T" to their new camera lineup. Maybe the T's origin comes from "T" for "T"ouchscreen? But then this wouldn't be a german word like the "M" for "M"esssucher. Any other ideas why a "T" has been chosen? photolotse Posted April 25, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted April 25, 2014 No idea.... But are you going to replace the X2 from your wife???? Would be nice for Istanbul! Leica T with yellow cover and strap would fit like a glove. Unfortunately there's no EVF in the desired color available - yet. ;-) Cheers, Carsten
dfarkas Posted April 25, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 25, 2014 The "T" doesn't stand for anything. It was a letter in the alphabet that had no product history at Leica. Also, the letter is simple, elegant and symmetrical - like the camera. That's the inside scoop.
wattsy Posted April 25, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 25, 2014 and symmetrical - like the camera. About which axis? Doesn't look very symmetrical to me.

Fotofanatiker Posted April 26, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 26, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I guess it refers to sensor size and means "Toy"...
NZDavid Posted April 27, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 27, 2014 Hopefully not trouble, terrible, or tricky. Tough, talented, top shelf?
rramesh Posted April 27, 2014 Share #9 Posted April 27, 2014 Thank You. It delivers what most of us were waiting for. A Leica implementation of a fully electronic interchangeable lens body, with a viewfinder, able to use all Leica lenses and to serve as a perfect back-up to the M.
NZDavid Posted April 28, 2014 Share #10 Posted April 28, 2014 Not really. An X camera with interchangeable lenses that retained easier-to-use manual dials would have been an ideal backup for an M camera. Take it or leave it.

Bill W Posted April 29, 2014 Share #12 Posted April 29, 2014 Well there was the R line, M, then S, so why not T...
