fotografr Posted April 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a large Heron/Egret rookery in a wildlife sanctuary called the Horicon Marsh. One of the neat things about watching these birds is seeing how they enter and exit the nests--straight up and down like a helicopter. Welcome, dear visitor! platypus Posted April 25, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2014 Love this! The nests, and the tiny branches that support them, appear so fragile that the birds would have to have some landing and take off strategy to avoid the whole thing crashing to earth. The bird you have caught in mid-air is performing some aerial ballet manoeuvre. A wonderful shot.
Northwest Wanderer Posted April 26, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 26, 2014 Really nice Brent. The mention of the birds body posture adds to it.
