Cheap thrills.....

Hi I'm looking for advice on some cheap thrills for my M9....

I'm looking for a focal length greater than 50mm and has to be RF coupled so don't have to guess oh and it needs to be cheap, cheaper the better. I'm looking for something with a bit of character, bit of sharpness does harm but it does need to corner to corner or break any records.

Thanks in advance

I don't have experience with this specific lens but there is a Voigtlander 2.5/75 for sale in the Buy and Sell section, I think it's 350 euros. I have had several Voigtlander lenses on my Leicas and they have been very good for the price, so I think this 75mm might be a good option for someone on a budget.

The Jupiter 9 should provide some cheap thrills at 85/f2

And Canon made a few different versions of 85mm screw-mount lenses of F/2 and faster.

They are always on the big auction site.

Ah, the unmistakable cartoonistry of the great Robert Crumb. That brings back memories of Mr Natural, Keep On Truckin', Fritz the Cat and Janis Joplin.:)

I was just remembering I got that albumin 1972 when I was ten years old. The album was already four years old and Janis already dead for two years. I heard Ball & Chain and Summertime somewhere and asked my parents to get the album for me - only album of hers I really liked. Within two years I had graduated to Deep Purple, Pink Floyd,, etc.

...but I can't believe that Cheap Thrills was released 45 years ago - I'm getting old.

Dear OP, sorry to hijack the thread .

I would go for the Elmar-C 90/4. This lens was originally designed for the Leica CL and there is some talk about focussing issues on "ordinary" M-mount Leicas. Personally, I have yet to encounter any issues even wide open - although f4 is not particularly wide open, for that matter.

As for "cheap thrills": If I remember correctly, the Elmar-C is the cheapest M-mount Leica lens on the market right now. I paid 110 Euros for mine in perfectly good order with original rubber hood, caps and even a small leather bag. Just make sure, you get it with hood and caps, because they don't really affect the selling price but are (relatively) expensive if you pick them up afterwards...
