T-mount, better find another name

Need to find a different name for Leica's new lens mount as the T-mount is an existing standard thread mount by Tamron from 1957 (enlarged to M42x0.75 in 1962). It is still in common use for mounting cameras to telescopes and microscopes.

So if somebody needs to mount a Leica-T to a microscope or a telescope may need a T to T adaptor? Sounds weird. Will there be any adaptor for Leica Spotting scopes?

So maybe Tamron is making the Leica T lenses?

Oops, you have inadvertently revealed the secret code, now They will be after you …

The mount in question is usually referred to as ‘T2’ (the successor of Tamron’s original T mount) and I don’t think there is any real danger of it being confused with Leica’s T-mount. I own a few T2 adapters myself and I for one was not confused in the slightest.

I hope not.

I don't know about the T lenses but Leica Shop Vienna currently have a Tamron made pre-asph 50mm summilux for sale!
