Durst C35

Does anyone have experience of using the Durst C35? I often have to increase the contrast level and exposure time on negatives that should already print well in any case (I've tried out a few other enlargers). Could it make a difference to use Ilford MG filters, rather than the fitted filters?

The original bulb for this device is no longer available and I'm wondering if the recommended bulb I use is not as powerful as the original type.

For B&W prints (35mm or MF), what would be a recommended enlarger that accepts suitable bulbs which are easily and readily available? I'm starting to wonder if I'm running a fool's errand!

This thread contains some useful posts regarding the V35 Focomat enlarger, as well some other options, and especially touches on bulb concerns and replacements.

Bottom line, if you find a bulb supplier for your enlarger, or if you switch to another enlarger, load up on replacement bulbs and/or ensure there is alternative light source.
