christoph_d Posted April 4, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted April 4, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all, Â Not so long ago I happened upon a Summicron-C 2/40, which I have to admit took my fancy. I am not yet intuitively estimating the correct viewfinder adjustments on my M (I am slowly getting there), but the image quality, the perspective and the tiny size have sort of grown on me. Â Being one of those people who always protect their lenses with a filter I went to look for - preferrably new - filters suitable for this lens. As you probably know two options exist: Â The first option is screw-in filters of the diameter 39 BUT WITH A THREAD of 0.75 Â The second option is to use drop-in filters of the type SERIE 5.5. Those fit in-between the original rubber lens hood and the lens itself. Â For those interested: Â The lens-hood is still available new via the Leica customer care department. Â Both types of filters are also still available new from the company Heliopan. They can be ordered via the web-site "www.fotofilterversand.de" (btw, I am not in any way related to this shop). Â Best regards, Â C.

Ecar Posted April 4, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted April 4, 2014 This is another (cheaper) option from a well-known eBay seller (I have no affiliation with them): New Metal Hood for Leica Summicron C S5 5 40mm F 2 0 | eBay
veraikon Posted April 4, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted April 4, 2014 Fourth method: screw in carefully a "normal" E39 filter. It will fit (because the preowner has still done it )
