paulsydaus Posted April 2, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted April 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I just got my M and Noctilux back from Germany for Rangefinder calibration. My Noctilux arrived back with 2 spots near the edge of the image circle. The spots seem to be coming from somewhere internally, maybe two thirds towards the rear element... They kinda look like small bubbles or drops of moisture. They could also I suppose be reflections. They definitely weren't there before. It's difficult to show online but here is a picture. As part of the rangefinder calibration I believe the Noctilux was partially disassembled in Germany. What is this!? Should I send my lens back? The lens was optically perfect before I sent it... jaapv Posted April 2, 2014 Share #2  Posted April 2, 2014 If it bothers you send it back directly, if it doesn’t report the matter to Wetzlar to protect your guaranty and return the lens at your convenience.
Ecar Posted April 2, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted April 2, 2014 What Jaap says - Leica will certainly clean it for you at no extra cost, but you'll be without the lens for a while. Looks like dust speckles from the picture. Probably no effect on the pictures, but I understand it can be irritating.
paulsydaus Posted April 5, 2014 Author Share #4 Â Posted April 5, 2014 Thanks guys! As always the help here is spot on (umm, I'll retire now). I might ask a follow up question later about general maintenance but I need to sleep after a long flight. Cheers again. Paul
