arthury Posted April 5, 2014 Author Share #21 Â Posted April 5, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, Nick, one of these days, we should send mails to Cosina to harass them to give us a list. Â Whatever it is, I think this lens has potential.
Advertisement Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Hi arthury, Take a look here VC 12mm/5.6 Heliar mated to M240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Mantice Posted April 22, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted April 22, 2014 I confirm the 11134 remove many of the color cast and some vignetting of the lens on M240. Â However the whole front housing of my 2-days old lens just wobbles - I hear this is normal? Â

Lens profile 11606 is a better profile for the VC12mm. It was tested by Zeiss for their 15mm Distagon and looks like it worked much better than the 11134.  Mine does not wobble. If it wobbles too much, you can always contact Cosina and send it in to get it tightened up.

I just give it a try in my kitchen with white edge walls and yes, it does remove that last faint bit of color~ vignetting is about the same, but now 12mm heliar is basically fully useable on M240, sweet!  But my trip is tomorrow and its late night here already - gosh I hope I discover this wobble thing earlier and it is very annoying - 2mm diameter movement of the whole front housing (include element groups)

But, I'd take a long a wide angled lens (closest substitute) in case things go south during your trip.
jankap Posted April 23, 2014 Share #26 Â Posted April 23, 2014 What is meant by "wobbling"? Look, at 12mm lens focus an axial play of say 0.01mm is more serious than the same amount at a 50mm lens. At APS-C it serves as a 18mm lens, it is a very nice and sharp lens. Jan
Mantice Posted April 29, 2014 Share #27 Â Posted April 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) It means the whole front assembly (include the whole optical chamber) can be twist left-right few millimeter with a light 2-finger twist. It doesn't seem to affect axial but who knows, I do not feel confidence IMO. Â Later found out it is common in smaller voiglander lenses, except mine is more extreme and require re-tightening. Get a hold of a VC lens and lightly holding the mounting area and front (in my case the built-in hood) in separate hand, light twist, and you'll know what I mean. Â I found this and I don't know if this applies to 12mm
Nick_S Posted April 29, 2014 Share #28 Â Posted April 29, 2014 I found this and I don't know if this applies to 12mm Thanks for the link. I have no mechanical issues with my new 21 mm/F4.0 Color Skopar Pancake II, but is good to know that this is a minor adjustment if required that I can ask of a camera technician.
