eleskin Posted March 26, 2014 Share #1  Posted March 26, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone!  It seems my trusty Noctilux f1.0 is missing a screw in the focus mount (I see there is two) and I detect extremely slight almost non existent movement of the mount when I pull at it from the rear where the chrome mounting ring is. My question is do these two screws hold on the mount, and why does it seem to be very, very slightly loose? Could I fix it myself? Anyone have this problem? Welcome, dear visitor! Fgcm Posted March 26, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted March 26, 2014 I guess the missing screws were there for a reason. If I were you, I would send the lens to a trusted repair shop or to Leica. Being a F1, it served you for some years. It deserves a hug of mom Leica Franco
eleskin Posted March 27, 2014 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 27, 2014 I very carefully removed the chrome bayonet and screwed it back in tightly. This seemed to have eliminated my problem. I still have not figured out what the two small screws are for. I suspect they are tensioning screws on the black outer shell with the depth of field engravings to hold that in place so it lines up with the screw holes in the bayonet mount. When I removed the bayonet mount I could see the inside of the lens start to rotate, so it seems these two screws prevent that from happening. It would seem a waste of time and expense to send that to Leica when i am sure a good local camera repair could do it. After all, I always replace little screws for my eyeglasses all the time. Sometimes this happens with our cameras and lenses. This is not as big of a problem than a lens being out of alignment, etc... So anyone who knows a Noctliux inside and out, please confirm to me what i suspect. I am sure I am right on this.
