arthury Posted March 17, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted March 17, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have experiences with this lens coupled to the M240? Yes, I heard all about the color cast issues on the M9 and the non-rangefinder coupled issue. Â What about on the M240 EVF2? How's the new sensor handling the image from this lens? Advertisement Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Hi arthury, Take a look here Zeiss 15mm/2.8 Distagon ZM. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John McMaster Posted March 18, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted March 18, 2014 It has slight magenta cast on both sides when coded as 21mm Elmarit pre-asph, there is no rangefinder coupling so Liveview is very helpful at closer range. Â john

Was wondering if the color cast would be more well managed.

mmradman Posted March 19, 2014 Share #5  Posted March 19, 2014 Very few people here has this lens? No surprise there. I have recently tried M240 with above lens (at photo trade fair), camera was manually set for Elmarit 21mm pre ASPH. It is very wide and space was confined so I struggled to capture bright background into the corners to assess colour cast . Still have to look into the images in depth and try to figure out how much cast there is but I suspect there will be some (also see post #2).  I found lens to be reasonably compact despite being bigger than many other M mount lenses, my key objection is lack of RF coupling - I like to use my M camera the M way. If I really wanted 15/16mm FL I would be inclined to pursue WATE. Already have two slow M 21mm lenses plus R 19mm and find 21mm plenty wide. Personally I would rather go for Lux 21mm.
