ewan0304 Posted March 13, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted March 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, Â I'm new to the Leica family, and today I just received my Summicron 50mm f2 from Amazon. However when I receive it I find the round tape on the outer gray box has broken, and it looks like someone used knife to cut the tape. Same thing happens to the Leica M body ordered from B&H, the outer box was not sealed. Someone told me that dealers open the box to put the warranty in. I wonder if this is a normal case for Leica product? Â Thank you very much!

B-A-C Posted March 14, 2014 Share #6 Â Posted March 14, 2014 What about the plastic bag in which the lens comes. In the past this always had a sticker with the serial number on it, but my most recent lens bag did not have the S/N sticker on it. The lens appears to be new. What are your experiences? John McMaster Posted March 14, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted March 14, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Things seem to have changed, I got a brand new lens last week with no sticker on inner bag but the label on the outer cardboard box has a date on it (2014/02/19) as well as product code and serial number. The outer box was still sealed when I received it ;-) Â john

gyoung Posted March 14, 2014 Share #10  Posted March 14, 2014 When I worked for a dealer we checked every camera when it arrived, running through the shutter speeds audibly and visually. In the case of Leica bodies that included putting a lens on and trying the rangefinder at infinity It seems that might be a good idea to return too..  Gerry  Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
