Ok, after checking the hotel and neighborhood out a bit, I think the best place to meet will be the Granbell hotel cafe. This is located on the first floor (ground floor to the Europeans!) to the left of reception.

I would suggest the following as a starter:

Sunday morning: I will be in the cafe from 1000-1030. After that, I will probably head over to Harajuku/Yoyogi Park, and the Meiji shrine. I appreciate that no one will really have arrived by this point, with the exception of Philippe and the locals, so I might be in my own :)

Sunday evening: if anyone wants to join for dinner and an evening stroll I would suggest meeting in the hotel cafe at 1830

Monday: I will be in the cafe from 0930-1000. After that see what people feel like doing, but one suggestion would be Asakusa and Senso-ji

Monday evening: a lot more people will have arrived by then, so let's meet in the cafe at 1700

Hello, Simon

Thank you for your kind info.

But I'm sorry to say that I couldn't join the Sunday's and Monday's plan.

If you would visit to the Leica Store Tokyo Ginza (Leica Gallery) on Tuesday 19th or Wednesday 20th May, I could meet you and other members.

Please give a thought to my proposal.

Best Regards, from Takanori Tomimatsu

Sorry: just found my cell phone will not connect despite assuranced from the service provider. My wife's will work so if texting is needed, here it is:

My old Ipod obviously works, if I can have Wifi connection.

European phones should connect as long as they are 3G capable. However as you mentioned earlier you have a basic cell phone without data, so it may be that it does not support 3G since this is a cellular data standard.

I've just arrived in Japan - now away from work, I can keep up on these message threads! There are some Japanese ladies into cameras (toy camera style I think) interested in saying meeting our group. Ritsuko is co-ordinating them meeting at the Shinjuku Granbell hotel lobby around 6pm tonight.

We can then head off for food - or we may be shown some good photo spots.

Ritsuko has wifi and her Japanese mobile as listed in the private threads.

Hello, Simon

If it's OK, please be informed of Monday's schedule.

What around time are you going to visit Asakusa or Sensou-ji on Monday 18th May?

Hi Takanori San

We will meet this evening at the hotel and discuss the schedule for tomorrow. I will inform you later what we plan to do on Monday.

Change of plans on the Monday morning meetup (although I think everyone who will be joining is at the same table at the moment anyway!)

We will meet in the lobby at 0730 and then head off to Kiyosumi and then Asakusa. Breakfast will be acquired en route ;)

Hello, Simon

I agree with you.

I talked with Ms. Yamashita.

I'll enjoy with you and your members at Asakusa.

Thanks a lot.

Hi folks. How about my country? I hope you are enjoying life in Tokyo.

Are you going to go to Kyoto as planned?
I'll be in Kyoto for my work on May 20th and 21st (until evening).
And I'll be there again form the evening of 22nd and 23rd if I can join with you.
Is it possible ?

Hi Jujube,

Definitely :) we would love for you to join us in Kyoto. We arrive sometime on the 21st (probably early afternoon) and then have our challenge and group dinner on the 23rd. Then most people leave on 24th.

Please send me your cell phone by PM and we can make sure you are kept up to date with the agenda once we know it.
