Julian H Posted February 16, 2014 Share #1  Posted February 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi  I have a lovely 35mm 'lux with M3 eyes.  Is is feasible, economical and/or sacrilege to convert it to a "normal" 'lux so i can use it on my M4-2 and any future model M I might buy?  I would never need to use it on an M3.  Thanks, Julian
Advertisement Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Hi Julian H, Take a look here M3 eyes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted February 16, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted February 16, 2014 You use it on any M with the 'eyes' or goggles as they are usually referred to. Â It's not possible to convert it, just use the goggles, or sell it and buy a non goggled version if you prefer not to have to use them.
Dougg Posted February 19, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted February 19, 2014 Actually, the goggled lenses work just fine on other M cameras, and not just the M3. I bought a goggled f/2.8 Summaron specifically for my M2 so that I could see the 35mm framelines more easily. It's on my M(240) right now, and very satisfactory other than a slight lowering of viewfinder brightness. Â The optical effects of the goggles on the viewfinder are coordinated with the lens's RF coupling cam. With the goggles removed, focusing is messed up. I'd suggest using your goggled Summilux as-is and be happy!
