platypus Posted February 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The English Blackberry is designated as a noxious weed here. This one has cleverly avoided detection and resultant spraying. The berries are beginning to ripen, a sign that autumn is not so far away now. M9/35 FLE Welcome, dear visitor! platypus Posted February 13, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted February 13, 2014 Dee, Are the Blackberries tasty or unfit to eat? Paul Paul, the berries are great to eat or turn into jam, as long as they have not been sprayed. We don't spray them unless the Dept. of Agriculture actually force the issue, the spray involved is far more noxious than the blackberry bushes! Iduna Posted February 13, 2014 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2014 Dee, lovely shot! - we also do not like it very much as the weed when its keeps covering everything else. But the jam and with sugar these berries are nice. so yozu captured both - the weedy dangerous existence and its sweet side.

platypus Posted February 14, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted February 14, 2014 Oz is a huge Petrie dish of unintentional invasive species. That's really funny Stuart!....and we can the lay the blame for that squarely at the feet of our British ancestors, or in our case Scottish.
