Female grizzly at Teton National Park, Wyoming. Image taken June 2013 with V-Lux 4. I sat in my truck with the motor running. I was amazed to get good detail for a hand held 600 mm image.

Bill,

An incredible shot for sharpness for handheld with 600mm and fine tones. Does your camera have the anti-vibration feature?

Paul

Thank you Paul.

Yes the V-Lux 4 has an image stabilization function. There is on way I could have pulled this shot off without it. Between the vehicle vibration and my hands being less than steady from the excitement, I'm surprised I have a decent image at all.

Thank you Brent.

From your comment it's clear you know what it's like to see these great bears in the wild. It's a thrill that can't be expressed in words.

I would never put myself in a situation where I'd be in danger or cause the bear problems. I've seen many bears over the years. The first Grizzly I ever saw was while hiking in Glacier National Park. I encountered a female with cubs while fly fishing a high mountain lake I'd hiked into. Like you it was an experience that you don't want to have again.
