janlu Posted February 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2014 Ciao Karl , i like best the colors one .... as the colors seems to add some magic mood at the place and the movement of the water is smoother .... more pleasant to my eyes . Btw , beautiful composition !! Gianluca
wda Posted February 1, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 1, 2014 Interest comparison of treatments. I think the mono version has more power and impact.
pauledell Posted February 1, 2014 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2014 Karl, I like the b&w version more. Paul
Iduna Posted February 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted February 2, 2014 Karl, aha, here we have again a juxtaposition of color and B&W. I like both version because these are two different pictures. The B&" is here as abstract as the color version but has more haptic quality and texture of the snow in front. In this version the eye is attracted by the foreground therefore. In the color version I feel it is different: he blue is leading into the the center of the flwoing soft water. Both versions are great.
Michael Hiles Posted February 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted February 2, 2014 Beautiful. B&W.

We are baking here in our part of Australia, the second heat wave in three weeks and it just goes on and on, we're a bit over it really.
HeinzX Posted February 2, 2014 Share #8 Posted February 2, 2014 Karl, excellent pictures - I like both, but the b&w version a little bit more.
Louis Posted February 2, 2014 Share #9 Posted February 2, 2014 Hello, Karl, A very tough call. I really like them both. But as a fan of B/W, the first shot, maybe!
Northwest Wanderer Posted February 2, 2014 Share #10 Posted February 2, 2014 Karl, You have a fine image here. I prefer the mono as it shows winter more as I see it. To me it's a natural look.
Karl G Posted February 2, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted February 2, 2014 Thank you very much Gianluca, David, Paul, Iduna, Michael, Dee, Heinz, Louis and Bill. Iduna, I noticed the same thing and felt the same way when processing the files. Ideally a shallower DOF when shot, would have enhanced the B/W, IMO.
