Can I retract Elmar 50mm 2.8 into M240?

There is about a mm side clearance ........ If you have a 'wobbly' version of the lens .... which tends to occur with use ...... you may find it will retract in one position ok but catch slightly when the barrel is rotated into another .......

Never noticed any marks on lens body or camera though, so if yours retracts without any grating noises, don't worry. There is plenty rear clearance so sensor damage isn't an issue.

Also ok on the Sony A7r although the rear clearance is minuscule and retracting it on that camera is a real act of faith ....

(I measured it and it's ok :))
