Advertisement Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hi oslermarine, Take a look here Can I retract Elmar 50mm 2.8 into M240?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Fgcm Posted January 31, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted January 31, 2014 Mine works fine. Extend it when mounting and unmounting. Franco
jaapv Posted January 31, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted January 31, 2014 Yes, why not? The shutter is at the same distance as on a film M. The throat is slightly more narrow, so you might scratch it if you mount the lens retracted and skewed.
thighslapper Posted January 31, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted January 31, 2014 There is about a mm side clearance ........ If you have a 'wobbly' version of the lens .... which tends to occur with use ...... you may find it will retract in one position ok but catch slightly when the barrel is rotated into another ....... Â Never noticed any marks on lens body or camera though, so if yours retracts without any grating noises, don't worry. There is plenty rear clearance so sensor damage isn't an issue. Â Also ok on the Sony A7r although the rear clearance is minuscule and retracting it on that camera is a real act of faith .... Â (I measured it and it's ok )
