I would also recommend the 28 Elmarit ASPH. It is one of Leica's best, smallest and least expensive lenses. I bought a new one in Hong Kong last year for $1400 USD. Used prices are even less.

The Voigtländer 28 2.0 is a nice Lena, but the bokeh is a little harsh.

Beside being cheaper the f/2 version of the Ultron has considerable focus shift wide open, and it only starts to get better at around f/4. The earlier f/1.9 Ultron is much better. I sold my f/2 Ultron within three weeks of getting it because it was unusable for any low light work where a specific subject had to be in focus. For general work it might be OK if the subject isn't critical.

 

The OP should look at Sean Reid's reviews of 28mm lenses before spending money.

I agree with what Steve has said.

 

I had the earlier 28mm f/1.9 Ultron. I wish I hadn't sold it. The only reason for selling it was the finder blockage, but the optics were so good, I could have worked with a 28mm finder. I ended up with a 35mm and 21mm (with finder) to stradle 28mm focal lengths now.

I would recommend the ZM25. It is such an incredible lens and performs very well in most all conditions. Keep in mind that the focal length appears to actually be more close to 28mm. Great lens!
