Leica M6 Self-Timer Help

Hello :D this my first post,

I am searching for a self-timer tool for Leica M6 to make a gift to my best friend.

I have seen the already present discussion about APDOO/OTZNO, but i can't really find the way to get them. So i am asking you..

Is there any alternative? For example i saw on ebay ACCURA AC-S SELF TIMER FOR LEICA NIKON CANON CONTAX RF CAMERAS selbstauslöser | eBay but i am not really sure it can work (also because i am not really expert:confused:).

Could you give me any advice pls?

Tnx in advance.

Welcome.

No way to judge the quality from the offer, but basically, yes, it should work.

Thank you for your opinion, but i am still a bit sceptique, i really would like to buy APDOO/OZTNO as a gift, but i have some trouble finding reliable sites selling them, mainly for OZTNO, which seems to be really rare.

Do you have any advices on any sites or shops where i can find it?

Try Red Dot Camera (London). They have three, £99 each. Under used M accessories.

I can't remember perfectly at the moment, but the detent on the M6 shutter button, which operates the camera's light meter, might prevent the self-timer + OZTNO combination from working properly. Better make sure before you invest on that expensive little adapter!

Best wishes.

Made some researches,

i just read there (http://test.www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/User:Luizchang) that appearently there is a compatibility between OZTNO and the M6, but at the same time they sometimes have troubles in matching up.

In the shop you linked i noticed that there are three different type of OZTNO, probably due to different time of production. http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=oztno&x=0&y=0&categories_id=&inc_subcat=1&manufacturers_id=&pfrom=&pto=&dfrom=mm%2Fdd%2Fyyyy&dto=mm%2Fdd%2Fyyyy

Big question incoming: does anybody know which one is the good one for the M6??

OZTNO is an extremely simple device. Other than variations in the Leitz logo, I doubt you will find any differences. I would attribute any reported success of APDOO + OZTNO, in use with the M6 and later Ms, to variations in the stiffness of the camera shutter button, and assume that in the case of your friend's camera it will be the same (ie will not work).
