I've been getting promising results using the M240 for video, but, I'm having a problem getting an older release of Apple's Final Cut Pro (ver.7) to recognize the M240's ".mov" files.

Of course, the M240 didn't come into existence until after ver.7 was superseded and I suspect the files just need to be converted to a format native to FCP7, such as Prores 422. But, I tried 2 different converters, and neither worked. The conversion options are so numerous that I had no idea which ones to choose, and the ones I did try were obviously wrong.

So, does anyone know how to get FCP7 to recognize the M240 video files?

BTW, FCP v.10 works fine with the M240 files, but it's not nearly as robust an editor as v.7.

This is a little late but I can give you 2 ways to do this. To play it without having to constantly render the file you must either transcode the file in FCP7 or use the Compressor app. I prefer the Compressor app--it's easier and comes with the FCP suite. Open compressor. Drag the file into the box that says "Drag settings and Destination Here". Then Choose a version of Quicktime settings such as Apple ProRes 422 LT. Then Choose a Destination for the converted file by right clicking on "Source". Then hit the "submit" button on the lower right corner. This converted file will work perfectly in FCP7. But be sure to change your settings in FCP7 to Apple ProRes 422 LT.
