madNbad Posted January 10, 2014 Share #21 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) To get the best results with the SF-20 flash then the M6 TTL would be the better choice. Through The Lens (TTL) flash metering is what seperates the M6 Classic from the TTL. The M6 TTL is a little taller than the M6 due to the inclusion of flash circuitry. The SF-20 was designed to take advantage of the TTL function and was released in conjunction with the first of the M6 TTLs' in 1998. There is a flash indicator in the viewfinder window of the M6 TTL to indicate when the flash is ready and will blink to show the flash has emmited enough light for a proper exposure. You can use the SF-20 with any other M camera but only in manual or automatic mode. Edited January 10, 2014 by madNbad spell check

jip Posted January 15, 2014 Share #23 Posted January 15, 2014 I loved the 35 Summicron V3 and the latest ASPH. Version on the M8! And I still miss the 'wide 50' on the M9/M240. I would say a 35 summarit is the best way to go!
Tom Tranter Posted June 2, 2023 Share #24 Posted June 2, 2023 I know this is an old thread, but those photos from Luc are shot with a Canon (5D Mark III and Mark IV etc) and not Leica. Most professionals who shoot Leica, shoot Nikon/Canon when it comes to editorial, Leicas are mostly for personal stuff, travel and journalism. Slide 5 on the 'Women' section, the close up with the shadow on the half of her face, was shot with a 5D Mark IV with a 200mm lens. But yeah, Leicas are amazing; but if you're wanting the results that you mentioned, then get an DSLR haha.
