erlingmm Posted December 25, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted December 25, 2013 How about the first zoom for M, now that it has EVF? Last year saw both the zoom lens for X Vario which is optically very good, and the S30-90, so there are some recent design experiences that could be applied for the M. Would you be interested in, say a 28-70 on the M?

I still cannot see the point with a zoom. There are loads of adaptable zooms out there. You know how big and expensive a high quality zoom lens will be (just look at the R 35-70 f/2.8 or the R 28-90. It would obviously be a M lens without rangefinder coupling and without being usable with the OVF. Given these facts I am unable to see the point. johnkunstadter Posted December 25, 2013 Share #9  Posted December 25, 2013 In April a fellow at the very top of the company mentioned to me that a Leica 28 Summilux and a change to the MP rangefinder are in the works for 2014.

johnkunstadter Posted December 25, 2013 Share #11 Â Posted December 25, 2013 What do you mean by saying "a change to the MP rangefinder"? Â As I understood it, an EVF.

Just find yourself a nice 28-70mm Vario-Sonnar for the Contax RTS. It's compact and works beautifully on my 240. In fact it looks like it belongs. Such heresy. Guest Posted December 25, 2013 Share #13  Posted December 25, 2013 As I understood it, an EVF.  Could it be, that the conversation was at the very beginning of the month? Got me alarmed for an instant, since I consider a change of the rangefinder for my M6 TTL.
algrove Posted December 25, 2013 Share #14 Â Posted December 25, 2013 Good point, Was it April 1st? Â However, another Noctilux in any FL will be uber expensive and here we go again new lenses at over $7k. Heck, today $5k almost sounds cheap for a Leica lens. Dougg Posted December 26, 2013 Share #17 Â Posted December 26, 2013 Whatever comes, it's bound to be expensive. Seems to me logic favors a 28mm Summilux APO ASPH.

FPB Posted December 26, 2013 Share #19 Â Posted December 26, 2013 '14, the year we finally will have a 14mm Super Elmar. Â It would make sense because it could also work as an 18mm equivalent on a crop sensor, if that rumoured Leica T model with AF lenses and interchangeable lenses surfaces in 2014. 2014 means 100 years Leica FF cameras and 60 years M system: Leica should release something spectacular.
