To the best of my knowedge, no M-E cameras are currently being delivered. Presumably it too has been hit by the sensor shortage.

Best regards,

Doug

My M-E has developed another bad pixel and vertical sensor array issue (thin white vertical line) going straight down the image from the bad pixel. I emailed Leica NJ and asked what my turn around time will be to have it fixed. They told me 2-3 weeks which is the same time frame as last time I had this done last march.

I travel by air half the year and I believe my issue is cosmic radiation that's mentioned in the M-E manual.

just got a reply from leica. share this with you guys.

Thank you for your email.

We are unable to determine the fault without first checking the camera.

Do send in your camera for our specialist to access it.

Do bring along a copy of your tax invoice for the warranty validation.

Average turnaround time for repair is 7 to 10 working days.

In the event that your camera requires sensor replacement, due to the unavailability of parts, repair is only expected to start in mid to end Feb 2014.

We will advise you accordingly after the assessment of your camera by our specialist.

No update from the OP, and yes I know it's a long time since his last post. Just a real bugbear of mine, people who don't follow up with what could be very useful information for others, having used others experience to get some idea in the first place!

This is also why I hate those people who always post 'use the search field' when someone posts a question, because most threads end like this one, with nothing!

Rant over.
