She like the color rendering from the Digilux 3, but not the oversized lens. Any suggestions on a good wide angle 4/3 lens for the Digilux 3? Thanks for any help. xalo #2 Posted December 13, 2013 Hi Ben, I have a big soft spot for 4/3, although I never got round to the Digilux 3, only its very nice 14-50mm lens. Do you mean a real wide angle for 4/3 or a wide angle that acts as a standard? In the first case, I'd suggest the Olympus 9-18mm/4-5,6 (tiny) or the 11-22mm/2,8-3,5 (bigger than the former, but less a handful than the 14-50/2,8-3,5, very very little distortion). Both I have coveted for some time, tried in shops, liked but not bought. The Oly 12-60mm is sufficient for most of my needs, so I didn't go wider. It's about the size of the Pana/Leica though. The Oly 7-14mm is famed, but a different beast, big and expensive. The smallest standard lens I tried for 4/3 is the Oly 25mm/2,8. Beautiful IQ, slight barrel distortion. Makes me think of the Oly OM 24mm/2,8, which I kept and use instead. Wide Leica R glass is great on 4/3, but besides the original 28mm (read 56mm equiv.) pretty big, too. I have a different problem with the Digilux 3 and can't see where this is addressed on this forum. I want to update the firmware for my Digilux 3 from the original to version 2 dated 2007. The Leica file I downloaded onto a formatted SD card is called DL3_200.bin. Does anybody know if this is the correct update file?
