pauledell Posted December 11, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2013 Brent, A fine picture with the "warm"? sunshine, great framing and sharpness. Paul
Northwest Wanderer Posted December 11, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2013 Brent, Really nice capture. Just looking at it one can tell it's very cold. The lighting is spot on.

Karl G Posted December 12, 2013 Share #5 Posted December 12, 2013 There's supposed to be two Turtle Doves! Beautiful light and composition and a very puffy looking and lovely bird. This would make a beautiful card or seasonal wall picture.
stuny Posted December 12, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 12, 2013 Very nice.
fotografr Posted December 12, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted December 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Paul, Bill, David, Karl and Stuart--Thanks much. Karl, you're right. There are supposed to be two. Doves mate for life but this one either hasn't mated yet or has lost it's mate (they actually hunt them in this damn state). It's been hanging around our back garden by itself for several days.
platypus Posted December 12, 2013 Share #8 Posted December 12, 2013 Poor bereft and cold little birdie. Will it ever find a replacement mate or don't they do that? Nice shot by the way, but so sad.
fotografr Posted December 13, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted December 13, 2013 Poor bereft and cold little birdie. Will it ever find a replacement mate or don't they do that?Nice shot by the way, but so sad. Thanks, Dee. I actually don't know the answer. Maybe there's a bird expert out there who does. By the way, I keep a heated water source in my yard for the birds and the Mourning Doves are the only ones smart enough to sit around the edge of it during really cold weather in order to keep warm. The other birds just drink and fly off.
