These two are clearly related, and they seemed to be everywhere in the nature reserve at the eastern edge of San Miguel de Allende.

Very, very lovely pictures/macro and vivid and gorgeous colors. I would encourage everyone and anyone to read The Life of the Spider by Jean-Henri Fabre which is actually available for free on the Gutenberg project. It contains such pearls such as that in most species of spiders, the far smaller male is eaten after copulation. In one species, the male captures a young female, ropes her down, feeds her until she grows and then rapes her and runs like hell. God, I do love the diversity found in Biology! :D

Bob, Quan, Guenther, Paul, Bill, Ece & Brent - Thank you.

Karl - Thank you. That's one of the reasons why we enjoy SCUBA diving so much, especially the misnamed "muck diving" which seldom involes much, but always involves small, incredible life forms. For a hint at that look at our photo galleries from Borneo and from Indonesia - Diving Around Komodo
