AmyQ Posted November 24, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted November 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can't figure out how to get my Voightlander 35 1.2ll to focus closer than 1m. If I continue turning the focusing ring past that point, the rangefinder images don't move so it becomes a game of moving in, scooting back, move in just a hair, move a smidge closer.... You get the point. Shooting and checking the LCD after every picture is such a joy kill to me. I've tried the various 35 lens settings in the menu to no avail. My noctilux focuses fine. Any suggestions? I'm going to go see if it will work if I leave the lens setting on the noctilux option.... I thought I read in the manual that doing that isn't good for the camera.... I'll check again. I enjoy this forum very much and appreciate your time. Thanks, Amy

AmyQ Posted November 24, 2013 Author Share #2 Â Posted November 24, 2013 The noctilux lens setting didn't fix it. I also tried the automatic lens option- no luck.
Dannybuoy Posted November 24, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 24, 2013 My Voigtlander 15mm can focus to 50cm but the RF can only go down to 70cm. So when you reach 70cm and continue past that point the focus patch doesn't move any more. You have to either measure 50cm or use LV to get focus. I guess this could be the same thing for the 35 1.2? AmyQ Posted November 24, 2013 Author Share #4 Â Posted November 24, 2013 Sounds the same... Thanks for replying.
viramati Posted November 24, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted November 24, 2013 I have the same lens and Danny is right. This is just normal behaviour for this lens so just use LV/EVF to focus closer than the RF range. I have mine coded as the 35 lux FLE
furcafe Posted November 25, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted November 25, 2013 FYI, changing the lens settings in the menu has no effect on the rangefinder's focusing, which is completely mechanical; the lens setting enable to camera to correct for vignetting, etc. Â . . . I've tried the various 35 lens settings in the menu to no avail.
Marac Posted November 25, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted November 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Rangefinder will only focus to 0.7m if you have an M240 use LV mode to focus to the 0.5m of the 35/1.2 CV lens. I may of misunderstood the question so if I have I apologise.
