Advertisement Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hi rupertpupkin, Take a look here hey, what does this button do?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted November 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2013 Yes. It's the movie button. I would recommend a thorough reading of the Manual for the camera.

algrove Posted November 16, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2013 Read the manual. It is item #17, as noted on the inside of front flap. Latest firmware on the last item on the Menu should be 2.0.011.
pico Posted November 16, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2013 hi - just got my m240 the other day.... what's the button that sits to the right of the on/off switch do - the one with the m next to it? Look over the camera carefully. Chances are good that you will find a 1/4" hole in the bottom with no bolt in it.
algrove Posted November 16, 2013 Share #6 Posted November 16, 2013 Thanks Pico. I knew there was a reason to give this back to my dealer. Can you believe they left a bolt out and it got by QC?
pico Posted November 16, 2013 Share #7 Posted November 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Pico. I knew there was a reason to give this back to my dealer. Can you believe they left a bolt out and it got by QC? Even worse is the view from that stupid little round window on the back left of the camera! There is an annoying little rectangle upsetting a clear view! What is that all about? And where is the pop-up flash?
algrove Posted November 16, 2013 Share #8 Posted November 16, 2013 You mean that out of focus little rectangle? I have just never been able to get it to work, so I am selling my M. I keep looking for the auto focus button. Apparently they forgot it.

And by the time you get this done the camera usually gets focused by itself. Miraculous. Edited November 16, 2013 by george +

Paul J Posted November 16, 2013 Share #13 Posted November 16, 2013 That button makes water squirt out of the Leica Red Dot onto someone face for a "decisive moment".
