pauledell Posted November 15, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 15, 2013 Ali, A great shot with the one branch reaching for the leaf. Great sharpness and colors. May I suggest that you might crop the top part of the picture down to the top of the shrubs in the background. I believe it would make the picture stronger. platypus Posted November 16, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2013 So subtle. I wouldn't crop.
Karl G Posted November 16, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2013 Minimalist ice and that's the charm of the subject focus. Nice.
newnew Posted November 16, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted November 16, 2013 Paul, Iduna,Karl, Dee, Thanks for your comments. Paul, before posting i have tried to crop but for me that was less satisfactory. It seemed to me that we loose the sense of depth somehow. I like the bokeh of the summicron 50mm. Suuumm55 Posted November 16, 2013 Share #8 Posted November 16, 2013 nicely - .... ....but I would have left out the upper part (background), then the concentration on the single sheet is stronger
newnew Posted November 16, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted November 16, 2013 Paul, Ingrid, I am posting for info a cropped version based on your comments. But my preference is for the full pict with the light on the background as a counterpoint to the leaf. Welcome, dear visitor! Suuumm55 Posted November 16, 2013 Share #10 Posted November 16, 2013 Paul, Ingrid,I am posting for info a cropped version based on your comments. But my preference is for the full pict with the light on the background as a counterpoint to the leaf. Thank you much better for me... but i would be gone even lower and would have just left the tree root and the real counterpoint to me is the bright leaf - i need no additional counterpoint but it is your picture and your picture story ... pauledell Posted November 17, 2013 Share #13 Posted November 17, 2013 Paul, Iduna,Karl, Dee,Thanks for your comments. Paul, before posting i have tried to crop but for me that was less satisfactory. It seemed to me that we loose the sense of depth somehow. I like the bokeh of the summicron 50mm. Ali, Perhaps you are correct but an alternative plan would be to clone the two areas of bright just above the hedges and to the right of the tree to a darker tone (that is if your processing permits you to do that). The brightest area to the right of the far tree in the background leads my train of thought away from the real subject. Paul
