Iduna Posted November 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) this is from last weekend when the sky was cloudy and from time to time the sun came out for a second or two. This is our landcsape: hilly at the feet of the Teutoburger Forest. Canon 5D MKII with Summicron 50 mm Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted November 15, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 15, 2013 Iduna, A lovely shot with the fall colors and fine composition. With the overcast sky and the atmosphere, this reminds me of autumn. Paul
platypus Posted November 16, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2013 Iduna, A most beautiful landscape with the greensward curving up towards the densely packed trees of all varied sizes and autumnal colour tones. I was so charmed by this shot and the name of the forest that I googled it, and now know lots more than previously about the Teutoberger Wald and the legendary battle of the same name. Thanks! Iduna Posted November 16, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted November 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Paul, yes, autumn is there and still we hae a bit of these features, so I go out this weekend again. Dee, oh, this is interesting. I am surprised that my pictures should cause this reswearch work. Nice to know and you are right aout the battle. It was believed it was near the city of Detmold but now it is supposed to be a bit fartter off near Osnabrueck where they found lots of debris and utensils proving that their was a major campground and a battle field. But of course everywhere in the forest ttere were most probably fights so that a kind of guerilla tactic is supposed to have been the cause for the defeat of the Roman army. Thanks for your time and comment. Karl, thanks a lot for looking and imagination
Tom Barry Posted November 16, 2013 Share #8 Posted November 16, 2013 What a contrast - this lovely tranquil photograph and the martial struggles that once took place in the area.
